UK BOAS & PYTHONS is the Website of Steve & Jacqui Newland, between us we have over 30 years experience of keeping exotic pets and reptiles as a hobby. We specialize in the captive breeding of quality species, not just Boas and Pythons, and designer morphs. Here is a little bit about us,
Steve's interest in reptiles started with colubrids over 20 years ago keeping and breeding various species of king, milk and rat snakes. In 1997 he was one of the first people to successfully breed the king and corn snake hybrid using a snow corn female and a ruthvens king snake male, the resulting hatchlings were a wild array of colours and also proved fertile when he successfully bred these a few years later. Nowadays they are commonly available in the hobby as jungle corns and are no longer frowned upon!
Interest moved onto boas and pythons, starting with Carpets and Hogg Island boas, and these have stayed favourites, now sharing with Royals and their many beautiful morphs. Back in the 90's Steve was a committee member for a local herpetological society (where he met Jacqui), he is currently studying for a certificate in herpetology.
Jacqui has worked with numerous animals over the years and started her reptile collection with beardies, after successfully breeding these there was no stopping her! Boas have always been a firm favourite snake wise, but over the years various lizards and snakes have found their way home with her. She successfully gained her Degree in Animal Management in June 2007 and now has her dream job working with reptiles every day.
We are both committed to furthering our knowledge of exotic animals both in our care and in the wild so that we can provide excellent animal husbandry and enrichment.
As you can see from our collection pages our interests can be quite varied.
As we breed our animals as a hobby and not a business we occasionally have quality animals available for sale.
